When I couple I know recently got married, the groom secretly arranged for doves to be released at the end of the ceremony, and the bride secretly ordered an ice sculpture, as these were things that the other had wanted but decided against to keep costs down! Quite sweet of them I thought.
I was at a wedding where the best man and the ushers (who were all wearing kilts) got up on stage, mooned and spelled out 'good luck' as they each had a letter written on each buttock. I really do go to some classy events... :)
two blow up dolls with photos blown up of bride and groom used as the faces of the dolls sat on top table as bride and groom enter the room !!!!
When we got married my Mum & Dad had made a huge picture board of me and my my hubby as children then some as we got older and together etc... She obviously had to get my mother in law to forage some of them out. It was lovely. She put it in the entrance to our wedding reception.

I disagree josstick22. I don't reckon a little suprise like these above would count as the 'main arrangements'.
