Bliss today has been the act of smiling sweetly at a relative-in-law who hates me almost as much as I hate her ... ... then wishing her a 'good afternoon' and seeing her discomfiture at deciding whether I was being ironic or genuinely friendly as she choked on the words "and to you dave' ... moral high ground nicely achieved :) What she doesn't (yet) know is that I...

2 things. Having an unexpected pain-free hour (yeeeah!) and finding enough rhubarb in the garden to make a crumble. Actually, a third would be somehow managing to sing with my singing group this morning. I felt not too good, but I didn't let them down (there are only 3 ladies and I'm the alto).

Bliss has been.... going to a posh afternoon tea. We never do anything to get dressed up for so it was lovely!
Hi, SharonA. Thanks very much for asking :) I've finally cut out all the prescribed painkillers because they made me so very ill on the digestive side - and downright doolally at times this week. I'd rather put up with the pain (I was falling asleep, not focusing, saying disjointed things, vomiting etc.) and hope my systems are soon back to normal. I'm being very, very careful and actually had a pain-free hour today - so looking up! :) X
Un-bliss has been discovering that boy #2's new school shoes had to be returned and the discovering (when the shops were shut) that he has left his lunch bag at his primary school :(

Hi Sherr, we've all been there xx
I know, but I'm super organised and it throws me when routine stuff goes wrong (boy #1 has just had a hissy fit over a gum shield) - thankfully the others don't go back till Tuesday (once I get back into my stride it'll be fine) :)
Thank Heavens I had girls and things like 'gum-shields' didn't add to the chaos. You have my sympathy.
opening two parcels of cloth and knowing they'll make a perfect coat
Bliss today has been a lovely afternon in Southend having a yummy yummy meal with son and partner. its made my day, feel very happy now.
Jourdain - the girls need gum shields too!

What she doesn't (yet) know is that I am responsible for collating and disseminating all the 'informal' photos of the event we were at ...

Why do girls need gum-shields? Has hockey become more dangerous - or is it the little elfs?
Not sure really, but I think they do rugby too at some stage and gum shields are cheap as chips (have yet to have a girl at high school, that's the next hurdle).
