I'm an avid fan of EFT and wondered if anyone else has tried this technique? Thank you.

What does it involve?
Hmm a new member I do hope we're not about to directed to classes or sold books!

// This technique is generally characterized as pseudoscience and has not garnered significant support in clinical psychology.//

No not selling books or directing to classes. I'm using EFT on myself to deal with traumatic issues. Clinical Psychologists would do well to use this type of therapy as it has taken the world by storm. EFT is over 5000 years old but, was discovered by a wonderful person called Gary Craig.
Sorry to be dim, but if it is over 5000 years old (?!) how can someone else discover it?
it's not taken the world i live in by storm, there are some people in this village who still wear bell bottoms tha knows

Back in 2007 I watched a programme on different alternative therapies hosted by Jeremy Kyle. A few volunteers who were suffering from phobias, depression etc all had to stay in this house for a few days. Each individual was allocated a personal therapist which specialised in various alternative treatments eg Cognitive Therapy, Hypnosis and EFT. It was a young single mum who had a terrible fear of dying brought about by a trauma she experienced. First she was taken to a Harley Street Heart Specialist to rule out anything physical and after all the tests came back clear she was then administered EFT. After her EFT session Jeremy Kyle and the television crew decided to take her to Thorpe Park. She went on three White Knuckle rides (something she would never do because of her fear) The results were truly amazing, she felt liberated and free. It was later revealed at the end of the series that the other volunteers had sessions of EFT with amazing results :)

All I know is that EFT has changed my life and has cost me nothing in money. Got all my info from the 'net' and watched demos of EFT on 'youtube' and taught myself this wonderful technique.
How do you know that your have learnt it correctly?
Question Author
There are EFT charts on the 'net' that show you where to 'tap' ... EFTUniverse is a good website to check out.

If we go all the way back, we can say that the original concepts about the body’s energy systems were discovered by Asian Healers more than 5,000 years ago! Next, we know that Albert Einstein explained back in the 1920’s that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy.

Dr. Roger Callahan took those concepts and developed Thought Field Therapy more than 20 years ago. He used complex combinations of acupressure points called algorithms and extensive muscle testing to heal emotional and physical problems.

Finally, along came Gary Craig, an engineer who studied under Dr. Callahan and developed a much more “user-friendly” system for energy healing that he named EFT, or Emotional Healing Techniques.
Does one chant: Every day and in every way I am getting better and better?
Question Author
No there's no chanting with EFT. But, my late father who was a professional hypnotherapist for over fifty years taught me that saying "Everyday in every way etc ...
The American Doctor Mercola (www.mercola.com) is a great advocate of EFT and all other natural remedies.
His e-mails make very interesting reading if you sign up for them.
Never heard of it.
