Weight Gain?

Recently my family have started to tease me about how much weight I seemed to have gained. To me it doesn’t feel like too much over the past two years. So my questions are, have I gained weight? And also if you have should I be concerned about how much weight I’ve put on and that I wouldn’t have noticed it if it was that noticeable already?

The rest of your question doesn't make sense either. Check out your 'you' and 'I'.
If you only wear stretchy leisure/sport type clothing it is very easy to put too much weight on without realising.
Either get on the scales or take all your clothes off and have a good look at yourself in the mirror, or both

Well it's very noticeable that you've gained a significant amount of weight but you were very slim to start with

So, if others say that you've been putting on weight, it's highly likely to be true.

Whether that matters though will depend upon
(a) what your 'starting point' weight was a couple of years ago ; and
(b) just how much weight you've actually put on.

BMI is often criticised for being an imperfect measure of a 'healthy' weight but finding out your own BMI would still be a good starting point in determining whether or not your weight gain is anything to worry about:

Oh, I’d say significant is harsh to say the least. I was obviously very slim but I wasn’t very happy I was probably at my happiest around the second uploaded photo
So, this is the equivalent of asking, "Does my bum look big in this?"

As others said, you've filled out well and look better for it. But it's always worth keeping an eye on things for health reasons, if nothing else.

The last picture shows that you have put on quite a bit of weight not a little bit. You must have noticed this over the two years - you look so much younger in the first two. Have you not been weighing yourself if the family have commented on your weight gain?
It is because it's an impossible question to answer without getting into trouble, that's the whole point behind the question about does my bum look big..... It's a no-win for the responder. I'm not sure what answers you're expecting or if you're just hoping for a fight. Honestly and without prejudice as a woman I'd say you've gone up at least 3 UK dress sizes. So do lots of people over time.
Well, looking at the photos, yes you've gained weight. Over how long? I couldn't see a date. If it is shortish term (less than a year)then perhaps you should look at your weight gain. Otherwise - not too bad, it depends on you as to how comfortable you are with a rounder figure (which happens to most of us over the years).
I would say that assuming the photos are in no more than 2-yr. order - you could probably do with watching what you are eating so as not to put on any more.
Personally, thanks to injury and Winter, I've put on more than I am comfortable with and so am dieting. It's something I rarely do. Up to you really.

To answer a few questions, I am not looking for a fight answer as honestly as possible please, I can take a few mean jibes. I haven’t being weighing myself as it’s not really something I felt was necessary especially after almost none stop weighing myself when I was younger, and obviously not realising I was putting on weight. These photos are about 2 years or so apart, my diet is poor I know that but I work a relatively active job so I thought that would counter act the takeaways.
Thanks for that - so the photos are over an 8 year period then? That makes more sense. Take-aways not ideal for losing weight no matter how much exercise you take at work or at play. Would suggest you look at your diet.
What do you mean 'a fight answer' or 'a few mean jibes'? I've just re-read all the answers and no-one has been mean or negative.
We have all been calm and rational. I'm afraid that the comments you must have been receiving from others must have over-sensitised you.
To sum up:-
1 Yes you have put on weight over 2 years.
2 You are not obese.
3 You need to alter your diet if you do not want to continue gaining weight.

It happens to all of us - we can eat what we like (for a while) and then it catches up. If you are not a committed athlete and therefore eating a lot of carbohydrates and calories - then you will gain weight if you eat like one.
As you get older your food needs will change. You need to listen to this and understand your body.
I hate dieting. I have to because I cannot increase my exercise.
No-one is being nasty or mean or anything. You are being told the truth.
Up to you to choose. :)
Personally if I looked like you I wouldn't worry about a bit of extra weight! Now that you are aware of it try to cut back on your food intake, restrict takeaways to one per week, eat more fruit & veg, get some exercise.

Sorry to clarify again, I am not looking for an argument I appreciate everyone’s point of view. I was just looking for some answers aside from those of my family as they can be quite picky when it comes to putting on weight. Obviously I must of been gaining weight to of become as large as I have but must of missed how much it was due to wearing stretchy clothing all the time
You were too thin in the first one. Bit better in photos two and three and have put on a shedload of weight in the last one. Yes you should be concerned. Surely your must know by your clothes - you would not fit into the first ones now and must be buying bigger sizes. Word of advice - this is not the place to come for sympathy.

Thank you elliemay1 that’s very sweet of you. I’ve tried diets and exercise but they never seem to last. Maybe I can try to maintain my current weight instead of losing or gaining any more

Thank you lankeela, I understand that, I wasn’t looking for sympathy just a different point of view. In the first photo I was very unhealthily skinny and gradually gained a bit which made me happier, I tend to wear a lot of stretchy clothes which is how I must of missed how much weight I had put on
Thanks for the clarification.
You don't look bad (from the photos)but you are curvier. I don't know how old you are either and that matters. When you hit the menopause you will discover that your metabolism has made it very difficult to shift any weight. I think you are far younger than that!
It would be sensible to weigh yourself regularly and decide if you want to stay like that.
That means watching what you eat and if you eat food from takeaways etc........... welcome the calories!
