They don't seem to cause any problems so there seems to be no point in seeing my doctor

I didn't mind age spots anne. but my whole arm was black then it turned lovely shades of purple It was a bit worrying but obviously nothing to worry about.I was visiting the doctor about something else and showed it to her.

Do you mean scabs as if you've scratched yourself?

You don't mean clots, you mean bruises.
Commonest cause is minor trauma, particularly in the aged...over 65's.

Yes. I probably mean bruises and I am well over 65.
My Dad's got loads of these, particularly on his hands (he's 86). They don't bother him. He knows it's down to his age.
No big deal joe......no need to see the doctor unless they spread to other parts of the body or you get other symptoms such as nose bleeds.
if you are taking Aspirin regularly that might cause you to bleed easily.
The veins on the surface of the body, particularly the hands are fragile in the elderly.

joe.s-b,I was a bit alarmed when my right arm went completely black but it recovered slowly-no pain at all. My age too I think lol
