I know it's not a suggestion but thanks for getting rid of those hardly readable letters when you use the report option :)

Much easier to report spam now

Great Stuff :)
You need to enter a password to report a post but you can't report it unless you are logged in. To be logged in you needed to have entered that same password in the first place so what is the point of having to enter it again????
I am able to enter AB by a single click of my mouse and, without any 'signing-in' am presented with my 'Profile page'...from which I can traverse all of the site and, if I should need to 'Report' a member , a page appears with my password section completed with 'security spots'.

TCL....Are you saying that you have to log in each time you click into AB.?

Ron.
Ron, we've been here before - that's because you don't log out of AB when you shut down your computer (which as we have said before, some of us consider a security risk). If you have asked your computer to remember your password then you will get the dots as your password (I do, too, when I sign in). When I report anyone, I have to enter my password - I wouldn't want it any other way.
Most of the sites which I use requiring a password have the option: "Keep me signed in" so whenever I log on to a site it automatically signs me in.
boxtops....The reason I have Not told TCL how I am able to do so, is because I know that you and others feel that my computer is open to being invaded by nasties; if I refrain from logging out.

However, what is your reaction if I now tell you that, following your advice about 'logging-out' being important, I am still able to enter AB without having to complete the logging in process; even after I have logged out.

Ron.
As far as I can see, I need to be logged into this site to report a post, whether that is doing it each session or because it remembers me and the password, a password had to be used at some point. Why then does the password need to be entered again?

It appears odd that I need to enter the password just to report someone but I do NOT need to enter the current password to amend the password.
Perhaps boxtops is better informed on technical matters than I am and will re-enter the discussion.

I feel fairly certain that, if you have completed at some stage the full requirements of the 'log-in' page (Username & Password) and ticked the 'Remember Me' box, then on all future occasions you arrive at AB, you only then need to click the 'Sign-in' box to fully access the site.....without any further need to enter a password to make a 'Report'.

Ron.
I've never reported a post but seems I'm in the minority. Is it a necessary development I should acquire?
Ron, no I won't, I don't have any reaction at all - different people's computers are set up differently, and we have ours set up in the way we feel is safest.

I have to put in my username, then my password is already there with the dots - I have clicked the Remember me box to get the password auto-entered, but the password has to be manually entered.

I am certainly not technical, I don't really want to discuss it further, but I suspect it's because you and I are using different browsers (as we've discussed on many occasions before).
not if you don't see anything you want to report, Prudie. You don't get paid for it or anything.
Don't you have to enter your password so that you don't report something by accident?
Cheers boxtops....You are happy and so am I .

Sorry if I may have appeared to be putting you on the spot. I honestly thought that perhaps you were one of the AB techies and that by accident I had discovered easy ways in and out of AB and that it was of interest to ABers who are having difficulties.

We'll talk again in other posts.......Ron.☺☺☺
In order to report, you need to tick one of the reporting categories and enter something (even if it's only a punctuation mark) in the comments box, it would be difficult to make a report by mistake.

I dont need to log in every time I visit because I dont use log out when I leave
I only have to re-log if I clear cookies and passwords - this is the only site that keeps me logged in

There has been an occasion when some one else, who I do not know has been able to log in as me lol
Are custard recipes still required?
The Ed's probably seen enough custard recipes, I might include a recipe for Chilli garlic prawns in my next report...
"There has been an occasion when some one else, who I do not know has been able to log in as me lol!

Errrm, that would seem to imply you are letting people you don't know use your computer?
Chuck....If you are still threaded..... What is the worst that can happen if one doesn't 'log-out' from AB., but merely disconnect from the site.?
