Well, I was most surprised this morning to find a dead rat in the loo. Smoke was very excited but didd the rat fall in during a chase, did Smoke throw it in there or did it drown whilst trying to swim up the pipe?

We were on holiday abroad once and heard banging from the toilet lid, the rat had swum up the U-bend and was trying to get out.

Maybe your neighbors have put poison down. They quite often go for water when poisoned
Maybe it tried to investigate what's up the sewer pipe and lost it's way. Apparently they are good swimmers, even under water.

I didn't have my glasses on so it wasn't as scary as it might have been! I've been keeping the lid down so if another appears it can't escape & so Smoke can't fall in trying to get it. But having read Boxtops comments I've now got visions of me opening in it & a rat leaping out.

Methyl, he isn't a puma but he did half bury a very large mouse in a plant pot last week so I just wondered if he was branching out into rat hurling.
A few years ago, No 1 Son proudly laid a very dead rat beside my bed in the night... I hate to think where he might have caught it, there are loads down by the river nearby
Perhaps he was just spending a penny and fell backwards lol
Seriously how horrid!
