Hi Over 5 years ago, i paid off my credit card, what i thought was in full, but recieved a statement, still owing 14 pence, so stupidly i ignored it, bad move, it has affected my credit rating.
My question , how do you get back to an excellent credit rating. Any direction would be a great help.

You can get a credit report from a company such as Experian which sends you your credit history and where this problem is probably showing up. You can then write to them explaining the circumstances, as I recall they then have to get the credit card provider to agree to it, but it's possble to have it rectified (provided of course you have paid it off now, and although it was 14p it's probably racked up charges, interest, no-payment fees, on top of the original outstanding balance....).

Boxtops. "Thank You" so much, that is a great help, i will certainly take up your advice. I didn`t know who to contact. I didn`t realise at the time how 14 p, would impact on my future. As now i want to buy an house, and of course am having some difficulty with a mortage. "Thank You"
