i have a 16 month old boxer she had her first season @ 8 months but has still not had her second one is this ok?

Yes, they can sometimes go a year between or even more. Even litter sisters can have seasons at different intervals, and this can vary from season to season. Count yourself lucky!

it can change too. We took on a 4 y o girl who had yearly seasons and she changed to six monthly with us.
Is you boxer otherwise healthy and lively?
We used to have a border collie who only came into season when she was six years old.
Often, a dog that gets a good amount of exercise will have less frequent seasons than one that is not exercised enough.
My friends bitch had a season at 14 months, and never had another, so dont panic.
