Flashing Important Message: This 'thing' is extremely frustrating, if you try and get out of it on a normal x out, get pushed to another page, and sometimes another. OK it may help pay the bills, but should have an easier way to get out of it, please. I don't want to win prizes Thanks / Diolch.

What "Flashing Important Message", clive - do you mean the advert in the middle of the page?
Question Author
boxtops: It comes up on the middle right of my page.
Is it an advert then? I don't see that at all.
I don't get it either.
Question Author
It's intermittent ... Ecovision is in the slot now!!
I've made the point - happy to leave to Ed!
Try and get a screen shot to send to the Ed.
Nothing like that on my page.
My central advert is MSC Cruises
Can you send me a screenshot if you catch it again please?

I won't be able to track it down properly until normal working hours. We've instructed the ad provider to not allow this kind of advert.

Have done, but can't transfer it to this answer page. Have saved it as a pdf, and as a doc, and as icloud. But can't paste it here;
Briefly says "GREAT NEWS - SMILEY
This is not a joke - You have a chance to win an IPhone - Click here"
btw - How do I paste it into answer panel, please?
Email it to the Edas an attachment.

With respect -Where is the Ed's email address, I did look for it ? btw Should have mentioned I'm on a Mac - does that make a difference. I notice on searches that others have had this problem before.
Clive, I inadvertently got a couple of programs downloaded on my laptop and I was inundated with ads. Daughter's bf cleared them off so I don't think Answerbank is causing the problem
Question Author
FYI : Didn't think it would cause this hassle; I've sent the contact eform to The Ed. But I still cant att. anything to it. I've asked for the 'proper' e mail add, and then I can do anything [hopefully]. Nos da Pawb / Goodnight All!!
Sorry Clive, we forget we're not on everyone's speed-dial sometimes!

I am also on a Mac, and I don't get it.

ferlew ... What settings do you have for Ad Chices or to stop them. This comes via Windows 7, and it seems that it blocks them. The other one I get every hour!! is the flashing ones statring off "How fast are You"" asking you to click on two images the same. ps. My headaches are getting worse - seriously.
I am just on Firefox.
Question Author
Hi Ed ... How are we doing? as I type this it's Aldi and flashing oranges. Any progress?
Never seen it clive but if its a box in the right margin above your list of subscribe threads it's an advert.
Is there any reason it is targeted at you?
I'm sure it's coincidence but when I search certain sites the ads seem related to me. Surely ab is not leaky and I am paranoid:). I have high security.
I sometimes get that box at the top saying I've won a prize and starts counting down to my "claim time". I log off in case it autoconnects or is a cover for gathering info on me. Sure I could probably ignore it but bettter safe thean sorry.
ANYTHING MARKED "IMPORTANT" IS USUALLY A SCAM OR UNWANTED "COME-ON".
Don't press the bloody thing!
If it won't go away log off and wait awhile. I it autoconnects do the annoying thing and switch off the power. Then on boot-up just hit return for return to Windows.
SIQ.
