more of a whinge really - there was a very flippant remark on one thread about the poor student who was killed by a polar bear. The remark was unnecessary and very off hand - I found it offensive but chose not to report it.

I didn't see it carmalee but there's always one who will say something inappropriate to upset the applecart, same as in life really but here it's written down instead of being said.

didn't see it carmalee, but I too would find this offensive and tastless too!..
I don't know the full story so can't comment Carmalee. But I do know it was a very sad story.

I think it was unfortunate that a poster appeared with a name that immediately brought the whole sorry saga to the very forefront of the mind. If I may say so candidly you have whinged very long and hard about this and made at least two people feel very bad when no harm was intentioned. No one could fail to feel anything but sorrow for the student his family and those injured.

I am glad you did not report it, indeed had I thought it to be in very bad taste I would have asked that the whole thread was pulled.

mammylynne - we may be talking at cross purposes here but lets sort this.
Sorry, can't see how anyone came up with a name that was pertinet to the post other than the one I replied to (it was DT) so - I didn't whinge - I made a point -the original reference to the sad demise of the young man was out of order and unnecessary.
Carmalee this poster came on the thread

http://www.theanswerb...k/members/polar-bear/

I immediately thought of the tragedy and did wonder briefly if someone had done it deliberately, however they are a long standing poster albeit not prolific, as warrants the MOFC then DTC incorporated said user into a ditty, not vicious but as I say maybe ill judged.

You would not let it lie and then when DTC mentioned it on the 'Alright' thread that he felt hard done to, you replied with a question mark, now I think this has been thrashed as far as it can go, off to close the club early.

for crying in a bucket -- I expressed concern that a young man had been killed by a polar bear -get a life people
Question Author
have re-read our posts mammylynne - I am absolutely flabbergasted - never had the agenda you suggested (i.e. you wouldn't let it lie ) - my comments were just pertinent to the very sad story. And I stand by them - it was inappropriate forDT to open with his/her post
Have said all I wish to say on the matter.

okay -no worries will accept 'no answer' - I'll just stay around -
If you didn't find it offensive enough to report, why bring it up and whinge about it here?

If you have a problem with another user, email the ed in private.
Hang on a minute - you will accept no answer? what the heck have I been doing then, if you mean you want me to agree with you I won't, I have answered all your points. I can truly say I have never been more wound up on here than I am at the moment.
Evening. Usually people post in here to get my attention, what is the issue and how would you like it addressed? If you find something offensive then please report it.
oh ace, now you've up the Ed. Nice going!!!!

;-)
-- answer removed --
woke up the Ed, i meant to say.
Ed it was, I think, in the mofc last night. A poster came on with the polar bear name and avatar and a couple of people took offence when none was intended. Said poster has been using the name for a while.
mofc?
