Well, I have either missed the post or it is too easy for all the clever-cloggsis! I am not one of the CC's and am bumbling along with the usual blind-fold on without a clue as to what is required, so, a bit of N & Cing and a few hefty hints for the more feeble minded would be lovely.
Tinsel in the hair and snowman ear-rings to the ready, Hendricks, Garstang Blue, Garstang White, Creamy Lancashire, Stilton, Morecambe Bay Shrimps, Lune Salmon & home-grown beef all in for the festive season let's have at of festive banter............................................................!

that should read a bit of festive banter....................!
Actually I've been on a bit of an EV vacation lately. Partly because they both looked rather tricky, and partly because the Listeners have been even trickier!

Oh! Hello Jim 360, how are you doing on the Listener complete 100%'s? The last couple of EV's have had me tearing my hair, but then I'm not a clever-cloggsis physicist so am at a disadvantage. Have you done this one? If so send me some heavy hints or I will have to resort to S & C.
My 100% Listener year ended about halfway through, I think, after I managed to put "tucotuco" instead of "tucutuco"... might have made a mistake earlier of course. Anyway I'm at least two down for the year so far. I'll have to go for 100% next year.
Hello All,
This time of year is quite busy, doing fund raising stuff for our charity, so didn't get really into this EV seriously till this morning. Didn't find too many gifts on the first pass through the clues, but a couple of clashes appeared quite early. Then the instruction appeared! However the further information remained elusive until I had taken a leap of faith in respect of the 7th clash! That then yielded the victim. Have shaded the 2 unclued entries that are not thematic, but not yet seen how following the instruction will complete the picture. To be honest the theme is not one I was aware of, but it does feature in Brewers Dictionary of Phrase and Fable and relates to something that we used to chat about! The term was also popularised by a famous Scottish Poet, according to Brewers!
Same position as you DocHH except I am still missing a clash - even with a full grid! Be glad of a nudge where A/B can be. thanks
Got my 7th clash - now to look for the last step
x_word_fan, I had trouble finding that same clash, it was really well hidden. I finally deduced it by word length indications in the clues!

Devadolly, no tinsel in hair as have yet to get into the festive mode, although I have actually written out all the Christmas cards, posted those that need to go by airmail, 4 in all, 2 to Canada, 1 to USA and 1 to Germany, just a few pence change from £5.00. Hate to think what the UK ones will cost for postage, nearly 40 of them! Fortunately I only have to buy presents for herself and she has given so many "heavy hints" that it shouldn't take too long to get them. I normally only buy her presents in shops that wrap them up free of charge. Unfortunately this year there are some items even those shops would not wrap! Might have to resort to the wrapping service in our Arndale Centre! Me and wrapping paper, sellotape (other forms are available), ribbon and stick on bows do not mix! Will be spending Xmas here on the coast, and hopefully the weather will be generous enough that we can enjoy the Xmas Day and Boxing Day concerts at the Bandstand! New Year will be spent at the flat in London, because herself has to work the monday, tuesday and wednesday after Xmas and the friday after New Year's Day.

We will put up the decorations at the weekend! It will be turkey on the day itself, probably washed down with a decent bottle of champers. Time now to pour a preprandial Grants and prepare dinner!
DocHH - always replace something you have lost!
