The clashes seem to be awry. The obvious answer has D/B when an A is needed but other letters do give a word - however I see no connection with the theme....

Cracking puzzle - lots of thematic interest and a fun ending! Purists may bemoan the two non-words but I enjoyed thoroughly! Thanks Samson.

Apologies if there is another thread. Nothing for the "numberphobes" to be scared of. Logical with only a bit of Excel at the start and some spadework at the end. Enjoyable - thanks Kea....

An enjoyable puzzle though not too demanding once the entry device is discovered. I am at a loss however to see the definition of 36d. Seems it is just a surname that is to be highlighted?...

Surprisingly I cannot see a thread for this puzzle. Not too taxing - I completed it without finding 8 of the 10 answers without definition.
