We're in the process of removing artex from the sitting room & are looking for ideas as to what colour/s to have on the walls. We will be buying a new carpet too. The problem is that we have been given a dark blue leather suite & i'd really like to have warm colours as the room is Northeast facing. The furniture is beech. I enquired about recovering the sofas but it was too expensive. I'm reluctant to buy another suite as we had to remove the front door to get this one in.

Cream
Peach

would be my options
Hi Jayem, is it an old fashioned blue leather sofa, similar to a chesterfield design? Or a more modern lighter blue one?
That would effect my choice of wall colour. I think I'd go with darker warmer colours for a more antique looking sofa (ie, victorian style green or rusty reds), and a lighter more fresh (albeit neutral) colour for a more modern one (beech will go with pretty much anything to be fair).
If you are struggling to decide, I can't recommend enough a paint which I got from Wilko's - 'Cosy Grey' - it goes with everything and feels fresh but warm and would go with beech and blue leather. (my hall, landing, bedroom and attic room are now all cosy grey!)
Good Luck with the artex removal - my living room is covered in the stuff and I can't stand it lol!
All the best
My vote is peach too, or one of the warmer Dulux Whites.
Can you think of something well known that is a similar colour to your suite? eg. as dark as the dark blue of the Aldi logo on its leaflet (chose that as example as the leaflet is right next to me!)
I agree with Boxtops, we used to have a navy blue leather suite and we had terracotta carpet and the walls had a lighter almost peachy tone.
go with warm peach colour as well, i have a dusky pink shade, which works too with darker colours.

Thanks very much for all of your suggestions.

Peaspeculiars, the sofas are twelve years old & not as 'boxy' as modern ones.

Tuvok, this is the closest i can find to the colour.
