at least, I think that's what it's called.
Being held between 5 and 8pm this Thursday.
All they ask is you come with a covering letter and cv.

Well, I've got my sparkling letter and wonderful cv and some questions to ask.

What on earth goes on at this type of interview though?

I've never been to one like this before.

I don't know, alba but good luck.
An open interview is when during a certain block of time all candidates for a position who are able appear at the place of employment at the same time are on a first come-first serve biases interviewed one by one as opposed to individual candidate appointments.

Be prepared to answer questions about your employment and education history as well as explain why you are interested in the position and have a few copies of your resume.
