Should I Do The Ironing?

My intention was to do a pile of ironing this morning but here we are now lunchtime & its still sitting there calling me. I tell myself its too hot for ironing, I'm not in the mood, & when I take the line full of washing in the pile will be twice as high. I feel guilty but tomorrow is a word thars taking my brain over.
What would your brain be telling you, Get on with it or
Tomorrow?

I would do it now, the weather is going to be hot all week so there wont be a better time, you will feel better when its out of the way

I put my clothes away and Iron as I need. They always seemed to need redoing anyway.

Aaahh, well shirts go to the laundry and suits/formal wear go to the dry cleaners.

I used to iron bedding but as all our bedding is linen it is pointless so I soon stopped that, or more accurately I had my bedding ironed.

My MiL irons everything and I just see it as a waste of resources.

I appreciate a sense of pride but not whiz zing stuff through the washing machine so that it is nearly dry and very, very crumpled is silly in the current conditions. Using a short slow spin so that the washing is more wet and then putting it in the line the weight of the water stretches the creases out.

I don't iron either, My old Nan used to Iron her nickeres inside first then the outsides, It always used to make me laugh, leave it till tomorrow I say.

Nah, ignore it. You are the only person who'll notice. My ex used to employ an ironing service. Hadn't the heart to tell her that it didn't matter to me if the things were never ironed and so employing women to collect it all and bring it back perfect was a waste of money. Anyway, what bloke needs questions like "How much starch do you want in your underwear?" The truthful answer is "None. It should be quite stiff enough without, thanks". And as for "Do you want the shirts on hangers or folded?",who knows? They'll end up on the floor, or on me, either way.

I can only do the ironing with the tv on and a glass of wine on the go. That way I can forget what I am actually doing and it is soon finished.

Give yourself a reward for ironing...that should motivate you.

Also, in this weather, I find ironing in the early morning works best.

So...too late for today - you now have an excuse to put it off 'til tomorrow.

ummmm: I think Delia must have adapted the saying for a recipe she was demonstrating- I definitely remember her chucking whole fresh tomatoes in a blender and saying it!

Aww! thanks for all your thoughts and ireas on this prob I had. Along the way I've had some laughs too. You always come up trumps with your idea's no matter what.
I've taken on board a bit of everyone's idea's. I'mgoing to get up early 'tomorrow & get stuck in while its cooler, so don't expect to see me here til late aft'noon. With it out of the way I'll consentrate on collecting some jokes for you. Thanks again folks I'll relax now with my glass of bubbly (Cava) in the garden. Ahhh Sighhh!! jem.

Ironing, what is that!! ;o) I think I might have done it in the past. Most things don't need it and as per ummmm choose materials carefully and if something needs ironing, iron it just before you wear it.
