i noticed today that my 8 week old had a small discharge on her girl bits. i asked my husband if he'd seen it before when he bathed her/ changed the nappy. his reply was that he didn't look at those bits. when pressed on why he said it felt a bit wrong to be looking at her bits.
That is a really sad indictment on today's society that a dad feels he shouldn't be looking at his daughters bits when she's 8 weeks old.
Do other dads feel like this/? like they'll be criticised or disapproved for it?

babysitting my grandson when he had a lumpy nappy i would take him into the shower to wash the smelly bits off, he loved it as at home he only had a bath. Your child or grandchild is a child, you love them and care for them no matter what.
I remember when i had mates to stay we werent allowe to laze about or come downstairs in our pyjammas cos it made my dad totally uncomfortable. I even used to get a bit freaked when my ex's 8y old brother used to insist on sleeping in next to us....sweet he just wanted company but i felt a bit :0/ weird - incase he ever said something thats taken the wrong way!!!! X
I just wonder what would happen (heaven forbid) if he or any man was left alone to bring up a baby daughter on his own as a single parent - they would have to do everything for that little child, would anyone question that? I doubt it.
bednobs.....the way society is going the saying ---
no man is good enough for a fathers daughter
no woman is good enough for a mothers son
will make us out to be p?????
a sad reflection.
My Dad said by the time I was born (28 years ago) he no longer felt comfortable holding any of his young daughters hands as he walked down the street because of what other people made of it.

Thinking about my brothers, well I've just had one stay with me with their little daughter and he wouldn't be able to miss her bits. She strolls around naked as the day she was born whilst indoors most of the time. I know my other brother often bathed with his son and daughter. I don't think he does now as she is 7 but body parts are not a taboo subject in their house.
it seems to be more paranoia than and actual real problem.

i mean if you see a man holding a childs hand, cuddling them, changing them etc - do you intsantly think hes a paedo...?

no ... so why do some assume its what others are thinking of them...?

the incident someone mentioned in a skating rink is unusual, most men are not abused or challenged if they are around children.
