Early Tea today

Need to scrub the decks as you all did a lovely job in washing the glasses yesterday, I thought a little trip on paddle boats and sandcastles today.

Drinks trolley has been refreshed, the local ice cream shop sells tasty ice creams (I've covered the bill) and for those who prefer summat stronger, an array of local hostelries and cafes are available (Free bar too) No, I haven't won the lottery (shame, it would be real for you if I had!!)

You Angel. Just in from hot,hot garden so a trip on a paddle boat sounds lovely.
Just a long cold Guinness today as I have to move a shed when the sun goes down. Nothing for the builder thank you. He is giving me a wide berth today. Can`t think why.

Nearly had a gate crasher there Alba. Lady on phone about the loan I didn`t have. She is now on hold listening to a music box playing...What The World Needs Now.

think as it is very hot i would like to have an iced coffee please. i can bring a lemon madeira cake and some blueberry muffins - made yesterday evening. so still fresh.

I really don't want to side track Alba's tea thread but I think this is where I will find some like minded souls.

I have been volunteered to make a competition entry for a Jubilee Afternoon Tea.

I don't have a sweet bone in my body and hate baking, I also refuse to go down the tacky R/W/B sprinkles, glitter, dragee route.

I was thinking of making a fruit flan with a Union Flage picked out in rasps, blueberries and white peach (or other white fruit).

Do you afternoon tea munching experts have a better, non-tacky idea.

Now get back to munching away at Albas, splendiferous tea.

sounds ok but for white lychees are better or maybe melon balls

Red white and blue jelly

Use raspberry jelly, a vanilla blancmange and use food colour to tint a clear elderflower gelatine blue...

Snakebite in my "growing up years" was Cider, Lager and a splash of blackcurrant....folk in Saltcoats had some wierd ideas... pint of ice cold dry cider...got a couple of bottles in the fridge might be forced when I get home!!
