All Ages......

A lecturer teaching medicine was giving a class on 'Observation'. He took out a jar of yellow-coloured liquid.
"This", he explained,"is urine. To be a good doctor, you have to be observant to color, smell, sight and taste." After saying this, he dipped his finger into the jar and put it into his mouth.

His class watched on in amazement, most, in disgust. But being the students that they were, the jar was passed, and one by one, they dipped one finger into the jar and then put it into their mouth.

After the last student was done, the lecturer shook his head. "If any of you had been observant, you would have noticed that I put my 2nd finger into the jar and my 1st finger into my mouth."

this was in a film a while ago. One of the students then says "Are you sure? I thought I detected diabetes." The lecturer hastily tastes it himself and says he can't taste anything unusual. The student then says "I swapped fingers too."

I heard this before, but hadn't heard the additional ending. Both good.
thought this was from an earlier british medical with James Robertson Justice
The story is alleged to have originated from the doctor on whom Sir Arthur Conan Doyle based Sherlock Holmes so it's been around for a fair few years.
My science teacher did this after mixing an acid and an alkali together to produce a harmless liquid, then inviting us to taste it. I spotted his trick, and did the same.
