Since last week I have had charity tickets through the post to sell from breast cancer, National Trust and the Red Cross now I know this time of year ever charity wants as much money as possible but we can`t give to everything and I would like to know what you all do , i.e. do you just ignore them or send them back. There is always cards , pens or printed labels and this must cost them to make and send and it seems such a waste.I am sure some people may feel guilty if the don`t send a donation which I feel is wrong.
I only give to charities that have personal meaning to me.
I have direct debits set up to donate regularly throughout the year to Asthma UK, RBL and RNLI.
Any other charity stuff that comes through my door gets binned.
No need to send them back, its just a waste of postage and time. The scale of these mailings are so huge that the costs are minimal compared to the money they raise from it. Much better to use the pens and recycle the raffles tickets than send them back.
