I really fancy trying making some of this myself as takeaways are definitely not in the budget for me anytime soon.

I like the usual chinese takeaway kind but especially one in a place called RICE, they have a few outlets around Manchester and cook it while you wait without all the MSG crap in it and it's lovely, has things like spring onion in as well, just seems healthier and more nutritious (emphasis on the "ier/ious"!).

Any good recipes, well more cooking tips (think I can manage eggs and rice haha) welcome.

My late MIL took her recipe with her. However, she did mention boil the rice, let it go cold.

Melt marg in a fry pan, add finely sliced sping onions and when all softened, add the rice with a pinch of and there it ends... grrr

I've tried it with paprika but not the same

I think the main point is not to boil the rice for too long. It will cook a little more when reheated.
Ok I like to use Jasmine rice but it's up to you. Boil rice as usual and drain and rinse wih cold water to stop cooking. In a very hot wok with a little oil. Crack in a couple of eggs, and stir up a bit to mix let this cook a bit like an omlette and then put to one side. In the hot oiled Wok put frozen peas, prawns and a generous splash of soy sauce. Once prawns are pink add rice and mix together and warm it all through at last minute put in the egg and some chopped spring onion and mix together.
You can actually add whatever you want to the rice and season to taste with the soy sauce.

As all the above answers.

Put 2tsp of veg oil or sesame oil into a very hot wok. Then crack one egg into the wok. Quickly scramble the egg as it cooks. Add the cold rice (if you're in a hurry warm rice will do but be warn it will be sticky and quite tricky to fry). Mix well, add a dash of fish sauce and a dash of oyster sauce, keep on stiring and the last minute add the chopped spring onions. If it's too dry add a tablespoon of boiled water to soften the rice.

If you fancy a curry taste add a teaspoon of madras curry or turmeric powder to the rice whilst cooking.

Invest in a rice cooker if you havn't got one yet.
