you ever cooked on your own, Not fairy cakes at 9 but something substantial.
How did it go Good or a disaster

Me, it was a Spaghetti Bolagnais. scoured the town for the spag.was difficult in 1959, the Bol was a recipe in a mag & it turned out YUK!!

Lovely stories mercia and redhelen, we learn from our mistakes tho don't we/ I bet if you were asked to do it today thet would be perfect.
Today if I can wriggle out of cooking I do.

At school - treacle tart. very good.
Just married and I cooked a roast dinner for Sunday lunch and wanted to do a rice pudding. Asked my Mum how to do it and she said "It's easy just use 2 to 1." So I used half a pound of rice to a pint of mile - had to throw the dish away!!
first dinner party aged about 15 3melon and ginger gelatine cocktail, Pork steaks with a mushroom andf cream sauce and apple mashed potatoes and chocolate mousse in meringue nests with chestnut topping...I'd cooked before but that was the first proper menu I remember...
I meant milk not mile"!!
I remember cooking a casserole type dish, but the dish I cooked the meal in was not oven proof and cracked with an almighty bang with the food all splattered everywhere in the oven.
We ended up getting fish n chips.
