Dunno, I still remember the one that happened in Manchester a couple of years ago. I almost pooped myself.
I think there are lots of earthquakes going on all the time. Last week in California, now this one in China. Sadly, it looks like there may be a lot of casualties in this latest one.
Oooo ooo Booldawg, I left you a further message on your post in gaming. Apologies Garmard.

It is absolutely awful to know that 300 people + have died in the latest.
I remember when we had one a few years back. I was staying at the hospice with my Dad....I thought he'd fell out of bed..!!

I don't think it's any worse.....we just have more news channels.
its all da fattys dat r joggin at da same tym haha
There are many earthquakes that occur deep beneath oceans or uninhabited places. It's only when property is damaged or people killed that we hear about it.

?????? Okay dumber????
As ummmm said, they are not getting more common, there is just far better news reporting of them these days and also as the population expands each earthquake is more likely to effect a greater number of people.

There were only 2 fatal earthquakes last year, compared with about 15 the year before.

"as the population expands each earthquake is more likely to effect a greater number of people. "

can just imagine... the earth gets heavier with the increased weight of the added people and their possessions therefore causing it to get unsteady and moving and tipping when over-burdened.
We had one here in Xeraco last September. The epicentre was right here on the beach. I was chatting on CB at the time and the whole house began to shake...
