Why Oh Why do we do it at Xmas?

I spent £70 at Waitrose yesterday and £40 at Tesco tonight.
I live alone but my kids will visit over Xmas.
I bought things that I never usually buy during the year like pate, king prawns, lobster, chocs, crumpets, orange juice, scotch eggs etc etc.

I known that most of it will be wasted as my kids will not eat much, but I just had to buy things for some reason or the other.

Have you done the same?

Nope....I bought dinner for today, Christmas day and boxing day. Including starters....and a few extra bottles of booze. As our shop is open everyday over Christmas we tend not to worry...
No.

The opposite.

I've been running down my stocks.

Nobody is coming to me, and I'm not cooking. In fact, apart from breakfast tomorrow, the next time I make food at home will be on January 4th or 5th.
ummmm ...

Why do people (except you) stockpile as thouth the Ice Age was approaching ...

... when the shops only shut for one day.

It's been mad down in the town.
Haven't got a clue Jayne. I scratch my head looking at what some people buy. There is only so much I can eat and no matter what time of year it is I cannot force myself to eat more. Our luxuries are the starters....which we sometimes do have during the year. At Xmas we have two and that is spread over the whole day.....

We as a family usually eat about 5 ish....first starter will be lunch....second starter will be light.

No pies...no puddings...no nuts...dips...and so on and on.
I'm going round to my parents on Friday morning. I suppose we eat at lunch time.

I'm staying there for a few days, but Saturday is business as usual in the town. A pal and I are going to see the Boxing Day match (if it's on).
Good luck with the 'if it's on' x
Thanks.

We need luck!

As usual, we're having a cr@p season ... 4th from bottom.

We need all the points we can get.
