i have hundreds of books and im getting rid of them... i was just wondering what peoples experieces of books at car boot sales was - do they sell? will people wade through the piles? or will i end up bringing them all home again?
and price wise - am i going end up selling them all for buttons and come away with 7.48 or somehting? or can you charge ok-ish prices...im thinking on average, similar prices to charity shops - like a pound a book or something...?
Try taking them to a second hand bookshop first, they`ll probably offer you a price for the whole lot rather than you paying a tenner and standing around for 5 hours selling them at 20p each
there's a website, greenmetropolis.com (or co.uk, not sure which) its specifically set up for selling books, they are all priced at 3.75, 75p of which goes to I think the Woodland Trust, and you get the rest. You register the books you want to sell, then if you get a buyer, the website sends you details of their address and you post the book to them. Have to say I haven't tried it yet, but I have a lot of surplus books and I'm going to give it a go, might be worth you having a look.
boot sales very unpredictable - I took 6 large boxes of good quality books to one before xmas - sold 3! (Mind you, the village where I did the sale - I don't think the majority of inhabitants could actually read.)
Second hand booksellers? Most of them give you bu55er all.
