I have used a product bought from local pet shop - but no doubt there are more on the market.

It's called Sherley's spray away plus - biological stain and odour remover. Approx 3.99 for spray which lasts for quite some time if you have a prob.

Its excell and will remove odour and stain (though re carpet - watch out for colour fading - trial and error).

It's worked well for us when pup was having wee (!) accidents. I expect there are other brands from pet shops etc which will help your cause.

Hope this helps. :o)
I've used mild detergents in the past and Febreze, which is designed for use on upholstery.
I will second Alfieblue on this. It is also called Simple Solution and stored by many animal supply outlets.

It actually eliminates the smell, rather than just mask it.
Link didn't work properly. Just type 'Simple Solution' in the search on that site link.
I was just going to say Simple Solution too until I saw the other responses, it really does work and has got rid of all the stains I have tried it on, including the awful bile some dogs sick up when they have been eating grass.
I use something called kids and pets. I buy it on Amazon.
