i have just been handed to me by my neighbour two letters one opened and the other not,the one opened was very important and private.I am still waiting for two more important letters to come to my house and my mail is going to other peoples addresses and the people that have posted these other two letters have said that they have sent them. How do you complain about an idiot postman ?
Not sure ChatterBank is the right "post" for this, would have thought this would have legal implications, so may be better off in Law. As skyep says if you tell the sorting office they will have to do something about it.
Have a look at this scorpious. There is a function to report a problem. Send them an email with all the details. I had a similar problem and reported it this way. Royal mail were in touch with me very quickly and the problem resolved. None of my mail had been opened though. I thought it was an offence to open someone elses mail. Have a great birthday.
Yesterday my postman delivered an envelope to me
correctly addressed, but with another name as addressee.
He had done nothing wrong.
Being curious, ( nosy), I opened this letter which was a notification of a pension increase to this man. I am a pensioner in the same scheme, so it was probably a simple error on the part of office staff. He may have got my similar notice.
I have sent the firm an e-mail about this matter which will probably be answered tomorrow.
I had a bad experience once with next doors post once....
We had a frosty relationship with the people next door.
I bank with HSBC , it was Midland Bank in those days.
A pile of letters arrived and I just started opening them.
Some were with back of envelopes facing me.
Anyway I knew a Bank Statement letter by the return address on the back of the envelope ...So in auto mode I just opened it and went to the importand bit ...Errrr
How could I be 2K overdrawn ...No way ...panic ...panic ...then started to focus on statement ...
Hang on none of this makes sense ...within a a nano second check name and address ...oh its next doors ...
Now what should I do ?
Took the cowards route and chucked the statement in the bin. Yes this was prior to the days of ID fraud awareness
All you can do is complain to the Royal Mail and they'll tell you they'll deal with it. I did and they sent me a book of stamps for my inconvenience, how good of them eh! Do your neighbours not look at who the letters are addressed to before opening them or are they just nosey??
