Call me a grumpy old sod, but what is the deal with this man?

I love music but am not particularly musical. However, if you give me a studio, songs ALREADY written and some top artists to sing them again, I am fairly confident I could make a decent go at it.

I just don't understand why he is so successful. I understand he is a "DJ", but if this is akin to the modern era of DJ's, as opposed to Dave Lee Travis or Simon Bates, what does this mean? Although not a fan of Fat Boy Slim, another so called DJ, I understand he at least writes his owns tunes and was an accomplished bassist.

I don't know who he is but he is totally unoriginal and I can't see the appeal.

sorry but i love his album... it seems he can take an existing song and often find someone else to sing it who does a better job than the original ... but then I am a softie for a cover!!! :-)
