I've been in the loft, doing some sorting out. I looked in a cardboard box and found some LP's.

I discovered the 1st LP I bought in the 60's. It was Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack by The Nice.

What was yours?

My first album was probably a MFP release of the Planets by Holst. My first rock album might have been In Search of Space by Hawkwind.

8/10, drmorgans. I saw Hawkwind in the 70's.

I saw them two weeks ago.

I think it was Saturday Night Fever. Not 100% on that.

As a youngster, my musical preferences were The Animals and The Kinks and, unless my memory is playing tricks with me, i do believe the first album i ever bought was The Kink's 'Something Else'.

I was 12 years old and my dad had had a little 'tickle' on the horses, so he gave me the money to buy it. He said it was an early Christmas present, so it must have been released late in the year.

He was also 'into' The Kinks and i think he listened to it almost as much as i did. Almost as if he'd actually bought it for himself🤔

Please Please Me, by The Beatles.

Excellent first record! I love The Nice and KeithEmerson.

My first was 5 Bridges and still love it.

I do have the Ziggy Stardust LP but I think I bought that much later with a job lot of others.

I do remember buying Bat out of Hell quite early on.

Me the Doors first LP.Back in 1972.One of the best LPs ever.

Marches of the RAF by the RAF central band.I must have owned it for 64 years. Record and sleeve still pristine.

Bought many singles before my first LP then that would have been an Album by Wishbone Ash.

Argos was their big album - saw then around that time.

Neil Diamond Taproot Manuscript

Not a bad choice for an eleven year old at the time....

Some great songs on that one.  Blowing Free was one of my favourites.

Emerson Lake & Palmer - Pictures @ Exhibition....

I don't believe I ever bought a vinyl LP other than greatest hits and chart compilations not by the original artist, which ranking rise is well down in the minuses. But my first CD LP was Energy Orchard by Energy Orchard.

The Tender Trap by Frank Sinatra was my first non vinyl record (78). I still have that minus sleeve. Probably 66 years old.

In The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson.  That cover!
