What Canna Do?

I have been given a Canna plant as a present. I'm not the most green fingered of people so can anyone tell me if they need any special care. It seems to be growing at quite a rate.

We grew one in a large pot, you need to feed & water regularly, they get pretty large http://www.karcheskycanna.com/ they will come up each year, protect it from frost tho'
