I haven’t done one for a while in regards to Ricky. Who if you remember suffered a terrible injury following a crash on his speedway bike some years ago.

He’s doing really well and he is back on a bike, not one with an engine mind but a push bike. He’s training on a tandem bike and he has expressed an interest in going to the Olympics to compete.

I believe sometime in February he is going to appear on the BBC news show with what he has been up to and his progress in his new adventure.

Well Done that lad!

I am too. I couldn’t be more proud of everything he’s accomplished so far considering how it nearly robbed him of his life. He is such an inspiration that no matter what life throws at you, you can do the most amazing things if you put in the hard work.
Is he that Polish lad, queenie.
Well done him.
Question Author
No, Ricky is British Tony. There is a Polish chap who you may be thinking of, Tomasz who is still undergoing treatment for injuries though. I don’t really get to follow his progress as a lot of the reports sadly are in Polish.
Ah right, I had the wrong rider in mind. Thanks queenie.
Was Ricky a professional rider ?

I watch speedway now and then .
The name Tomasz , rings a bell

Tomasz Gollob, Bazille.

Hi Bazile, yes Ricky was indeed a professional rider. He rode for Sheffield and Berwick. He was injured riding for Berwick at Redcar I believe.
