I passed my driving test this morning. I thought I’d blown it at one point but alas no. 9 minors but hey I passed!

Just need to change the insurance on my car and get out on the road.

Thank you. It still hasn’t sunk in yet.
What is a black box? I thought it had something to do with aircraft.
Question Author
It’s a wee box that monitors the way you drive - that’s as much as I know. I also believe and someone may correct me but it may also send data to the insurance company.
Aw that's brilliant.

Thank you HereIAm :)
Well done Queenie, I am so pleased for you. Hope you have many happy years of motoring.
Just like to add my own congratulations queenie, well done :-)

(Id never heard of a blackbox for a car either until this thread...)
YOU need to change your insurance???

Surely it's all the other drivers in your area who'll need vastly increased cover now that you're on the road, won't they, Queenie?

;-)

(Well done, BTW!)

Thank you Marval, Nailit and Chris.

I did change my insurance bumped the price up £40 so told them to bolt and got insurance somewhere else for less. I’m not that bad lol.
I know I've said it earlier ( different site ), but very well done, queenie. Many congrats.

Thank you tony! It’s been nearly 12 hours and it’s still not sunk in.
Freedom ( sort of ) of the road, queenie. Happy motoring.
Congratulations Queenie!

You will now have the weird experience that all newly qualified drivers go through - driving alone in a car, when previously there has always been someone in the passenger seat.

I passed my test forty-seven years ago, and I remember that first time like it was yesterday - I talked to myself like an idiot for about twenty minutes, then I calmed down and got a grip!

Enjoy yourself!!!

I think that’s what I’m going to do too Andy! I’ve considered putting a stuffed animal (lord knows I have plenty) in the car so it feels like I have another person there.

I’m liking the freedom bit. I also now need to learn to drive in my new home town too so that’s going to be an experience.
