Should I Write A Letter?

My daughter and son in law have been trying for a baby for the last two years, without success.

They sought help from the NHS and “eventually” have completed all the tests required. The final appointment before referral is now not until, the end of May.
My daughter is 34 and feels that time is slipping by.

Her mother in law is desperate to have a grandchild even to the point of making comments like, “I’ll never be a Grandma” at family gatherings in front of my daughter.

Now. The Rub...... she is a very, very, very, comfortably well off woman, and could easily afford to pay for them to go private, but she hasn’t offered. Even when my daughter told her last year that the waiting list is so long and they would have to wait. No offer was forthcoming.

Should I pen a letter to her asking if she could help them? My daughter has said no, but I feel time is running out for them. If I had the money, I would gladly help them. What does anybody think?

I agree with everyone else, no letter.
I say no as well, let your daughter and son-in-law decide what they do.
I also say no. It may irk but what she does with her money is her business and no-one can really know the state of her bank accounts or what she has planned for it. 34 is not really any age to start thinking it's too late either. The average for first time mums is round 30 and many wait until much later.
May isn't too far away, wishing them good luck.

Thanks for all your input. X
Absolutely not. You would be risking a major raucous. They are old enough to ask if they so wish. You could get into a situation you would never get out of. Back off.
Dont write just post her a pencil to help her son’s lack of lead....cheek of MIL blaming your dter!
yeah in my family
if you wanna baby you gonna have to pay for it
would hold water.
Everyone would find out and discuss it tho'

I am not surprised that 98% of readers say 'no'
having a baby is OK but being infertile is Very Very Private and the good lady may well not want it to be common goss. The rich lady may already have offered it and been turned down - you dont know.

and people have babies up to 45 so time isnt really on its way out. Butt out

One of my frenz girls had a concealed pregnancy - she didnt want Anyone to Know. Sorry, she had a bump out the front. Didnt anyone notice? yeah I did : I did badly on that one.
