Quiz team I am a member of won a local pub quiz tonight by 4 clear points. That gets us in to the semi finals in Nov/Dec.

jno the pub runs charity quizzes four nights per week from January to November. Every winning team from these quizzes goes through to a semi final in November. The winners and runners up (usually 16 teams) goes through to the grand final in December. These quizzes raise lots of money for their chosen charity. Last night's was for the guides and with an auction, raffle etc. they raised £850. Finals teams chose their own charity. We were 3rd last year and won £100 for the Special Care Baby Unit. Winners all round.

A friend of mine recently took part in some sort of pub quiz final. One of the questions involved giving everyone a thimbleful of mulled wine and asking them to list 12 ingredients. They had to do it in order of certainty because once they got one wrong, all susequent guesses on their lists were disqualified. Tricky!
