I am pleased Islay that you thoroughly enjoyed your visit to Islay.

However, and I apologise for my ignorance. I Do Not know what is an Islay Tablet.

Hans.

We were staying in a cottage just outside of Brigend
Tablet is nectar
Step away from the tablet, Islay. You know you shouldn't be eating it
Glad you had a good time :-)
Question Author
Lol HC I know I really shouldn't eat it but I limit myself to a square a day, its my little treat
:) Good for you.
Did you go to the Haggis Farm, Islay....

And did you pick up any of the Laphroaig flavoured chewing gum? https://twitter.com/Laphroaig/status/848067539062194178/photo/1
Question Author
I hate whisky but I did buy their cheese DT which is lush
the gum was an April Fool's spoof as was the Islay Haggis Farm.....

I've got my Stilchelton on order now. If you like blue/Stilton - it's made as Stilton used to be... http://www.stichelton.co.uk/
Yeah, yeah, we get it Islay..you went and now you're back, but did you enjoy it?? ;o)
You've spurred us on to be honest, him and me have been doing some googling to find out more about the island. Have to say, it does, to us, sound idyllic. Between the scenery and open skies, the birding, the dog walking, and the distilleries, what's not to like?
Do you take the dogs? As you may know, we have this pup now and we'd like to take him with us, there do seem to be a fair few doggie friendly self catering places x
Question Author
Yes eth we always take the hounds, if you want I can recommend the cottage we use (email through our mutual friend) as it has an enclosed garden, then onto a field which directly backs onto the beach.
How pleasant to read that a holiday maker has thoroughly had a great time in the British Isles, good for you Islay.
That tablet looks just like the failed fudge we made at home as children. It certainly had that grainy feel to it!
Question Author
Choux tablet if made properly shouldn't be grainy but smooth and slighter harder than fudge its properly yummm
Lol, as an 8 yr old I thought my fudge was yummm but perhaps my mother didn't as she would never it.

I remember making flapjack too. My father took some to work for his tiffin and it was re-named wayrock. Ingratitude!
Thanks Islay, may just take you up on that x
Glad you enjoyed it. I have for a long time bern fond of whisky from Islay. I was not aware if the gin. Islay just jumped a fair few places on my list! :)
