I have bought an old fashioned writing bureau which I am going to rub down, remove the partitions and paint.
I am then going to use it as a gin bar as my darling husband already has a whisky bar in the shape of a globe.
Anyone got anything crafty planned for the forthcoming week?

Nope, I am going to be good.
Not strictly craft but...
My project is to install a proper wildlife pond in my garden. I have visitors this week and they can help with the digging.

Oh that sounds brilliant Tilly, with slopes so the frogs and any small furries can get out if they get in accidently?
Will it have a bog area or all water?
It will definitely have slopes and rocks. I don't really know how to do a bog area. I was thinking of a hole with some pond liner in it and pebbles around the top. I will put some marginal plants in too.
Not this week, but sometime over the winter months we're going in to rub down and paint the antique pine bed in what was our youngests bedroom, white. And decorate and recarpet said bedroom.
I rather like the idea of a gin bar, we have a shelf in the summerhouse dedicated to empty gin bottles..I won't tell you how many are on it ;)

I believe Tilly that you section off a part of your pond either with plants in pots like lilies and then fill it with compost and the water, its supposed to attract newts if they are in your area also they take different plants.
Eth that sounds like my boiler house!! Love the sound of the bed we cheated and bought a replica cast iron bed for our spare room!
it worked out cheaper than buying a 2nd hand one!!
When I say it's antique pine, I should make it clear that's the colour, a sort of dull brownish drab, not that it's a piece of antique furniture.
We looked into replacing the whole bed with a wrought iron one but the price put us off, and given that the room rarely gets used it seemed a waste of money.
Mind you, my 'craft' ability is very limited, so it may come to that in the end!
Thanks Islay. It does sound like a good idea to have a bog garden. I'll have a look on t'internet for some instructions, with pictures.
