Black Caps

I'm always pleased to see and hear these birds returning to the same patch of blackberry bushes at the bottom of my garden, year after year, coming from as far away as Africa.
Summer just wouldn't be the same without their song. Long may they return!

Oh you're lucky, Chip.....beautiful bird....I do now have two chaffinch.....I hope they hang around...

Despite being on the edge of countryside my garden is quite bird poor.... :-(

Don't think I've ever seen a black cap but have been visited by a couple of bullfinches. Beautiful.

They are very shy, I mostly spot them through the window.

I have an olive tree in a pot which I position near the kitchen window. At the appropriate time the Blackcaps come for the (small) olives and we get a close up of them.
