I have been persuaded to go on a short camping break but for my first experience of this, I do not want to travel too far or buy the tent, etc. can anyone recommend a camping site in the South East of England, where we can hire a pre erected tent?

You'll have to take it down otherwise you won't get it out of the shop.

Seriously though, most people love it when they try it, so don't worry about it. It's so relaxing, sitting outside and having a glass of wine or a beer especially on a nice summer's evening on a nice campsite with no scunners around.

Silly me, didn't read the question properly. Sorry!
the holiday inn, sorry, couldn't help myself.
You will be very lucky to hire a tent. Why not go to Halfords & buy a festival camp-kit.It includes sleeping bags & mats. You could also buy a small stove. All this should only cost you about 80-00.As for campsites, i'd go & look on the caravan & camping club website. The sites are very clean & well run.
