Anyone else had probs with Sky TV the last couple of days?? Couldn't get any progs, couldn't record.
It kept flashing up "Technical Problem try Later" It was soo frustrating, missed progs I wanted to see and couldn't use the recording facility, same problem. Grrrr!!
When I phoned 'em, they weren't a bit concerned, just said switch it off at the wall & switch it on in 3 mins. Evidently it is all due to abnormal weather conditions, It did work but made me question if we really are in the 21st century.

Your sky box is probably on it`s way out, mine keeps freezing and it`s only 6 months old

On its way out? - How long do they last anyway? its not quite a year old ELVIS, I don't think so, Well I hope not.

Hello Den, nice of you to pop in - All is well here in wet Sarfend. ♥
Jemisa, I was born and raised in Sarfend. Lived there until 1983. Which end of the town do you live?

Question Author
Den, Yes I did live in Barking Essex most of my life. WHY?

jem
My Mum & Dad live in Barking and I used to aswell.
Jem, is your sky box working ok now?
Question Author
ELVIS -- No probs tonight, I wanted to throw it out the window last night, Funny thing is we've got another TV with Sky box in the spare room (for hubby's sport) & there was no probs with that at all, I got called a silly so & so because it was meee that had 'ucked it up.Ggrrr!!

Den, where abouts? What school did you go to?

jem.
Mum & Dad live in Sutton Road near Greatfields Park - I went to Eastbury.
Jem, some sky boxes last for years, my old sky box was fine for 3 years, my new (6 months)HD box is fooked, every now and then it freezes and it has to be switched off at the wall and takes 10 minutes to fire up again
I'm off to bed now Jem - nite nite . xx
Question Author
Sutton Road Den, I know it very well, I had acouple of friends living down there a while back (Janet & Fred.) Its not too far away from where I lived Morley Rd (Gascoigne Rd end) I went to Gascoigne school.
When I married I moved to Thames View Estate the new houses, my 3 children all went to Eastbury School. Moved to Rainham Ex 20years ago, Now because of the g/children we're here in sunny (today) Sarfend.

jem
What a small world Jem - we are eastenders originally but moved to Barking when I was 8 yrs old. Lived in Keith Road (big Keith not little Keith). ha ha ha that always made a difference. I first went to Westbury School and then Eastbury. I am 54 now and live in Hornchurch for 5 years before that Romford for 30 years.

Mr. Den was born in Barking but, as I said I am an eastender born in Stepney.
Question Author
Oh yes Den, It was important what end of the road you lived because LITTLE Morley, Howard, Kieth, Boundary. was what we called the 'Scruffy' end. They were Council houses with about 5 kids per house. We were in a "Tommy Young" house.so that was ok.
You would not recognise it now Den. Looks more like a Bangladeshi. housing estate.
I know Jem - I go regularly to visit my Mum & Dad. When I first left school, I worked for Sherwoods as a junior shorthand typist.

When we moved here to our bungalow in Hornchurch 5 years ago, my next door neighbours also come from Barking - Waverley Gardens - and he worked for Sherwoods also, as the gatekeeper.
Question Author
I remember 'Sherwoods' Every other person worked there it seemed. I remember the whole place going up in smoke, What a fire, burnt for days.(I'm a bit older than you)
I worked in Timothy Whites as an apprentice pharmacist. Moved on to Boots in Ilford.
when Ilford was reputed to be a posh place. Hubby comes from Ilford. 3 kids 2 girls & a boy.None of them ever want to live in Barking. Girls live in Hitchen & Southend, Boy is in Bromley Kent.
There's not much you don't know about me now Den. ♥
