ooh, I saw that tradition on the tele recently woofy...what was it now...?
I think maybe the sweetie that I found was the "bean" but I'm jolly well not buying the cake next year, seeing as I bought a new basin tap today!
Well, well, woofy, I just had a look at the "sweetie" and it's a bean, wrapped in paper so I thought it was a sweet. You nlive and learn, I never knew that! Thank you!

That means you are the Epiphany Queen. You get the crown and everyone else has to be very nice to you!
oh nooo woofy, don't tell her that, my knees won't take all that curtseying again

Lol, I meant mr N and hija!!!!!!
Oh Robi. I saw it on the television too and it is now driving me crazy. It was a drama of some sort!! I will not rest until I have remembered!!

Meggie sleeps on the bed until such time as No. 2 person gets in and then gets all huffy and gets into her basket on the landing!! When I get up in the night to go to the loo she climbs back onto my side, but again gets huffy when I climb back in!!

Puss cat Alice sleeps in a basket next to the radiator until she hears one or other of us stir in the morning and then practices gymnastics on top of us and pokes us in the mouth and eyes with her paws. Bless her though, she never has put a claw out on us - never ever. She is a clumsy lively cat with A.D.D., but she is the most lovely natured cat.
'Come dine' with me Robinia? I think!!
Yes but you know what she's like woofy, first it's the family, then the whole of Ibiza...then us. Nip it in the bud, refuse to bend at the knee, lol.

No Lottie, not 'Come dine' because I'm sure the lady who was crowned was old & seemed a bit confused by it, bless her.
oh yes! I think they were filming in neti's house
hahahahahaha
> > > > > > > > >
LOL

Yes that must be it - LOL!! Old and a bit confused - definitely our Nets!!

Goodnight - I'm off to bed!!
Night Lottie...I know I'll remember the moment my puta shuts down...
Just staggering through on my weary way to bed .
I remember having Three Kings cake in Germany for the Heilige Drei Koenige. It was like a sweet bread cake with knubby sugar on and whoever found the bean or Christkind got a gold crown made out of cardboard .It's a shame we don't have things like that here .
Same with Nikolaus on the 5th December ♫.Nikolaus komm in unser Haus, pack die großen Taschen aus.♫ I remember singing that as if it was yesterday .

Same old at Shaneytowers .I did manage a trip into town today though. But it's three miles Lofty and there is no way I could have walked it ! You must have been on autopilot ..lol ...Thank goodness for the old bus pass: ))

Mr S gave me some dosh and I've bought the sweetest thing .I'll leave you all to ponder what it could be :)
Take care all and sleep tight .xxx

lol Robi, I have only got one bendy knee atm
Question Author
can't wait to hear what your sweetest thing was Shaney.
(does a stiff legged bob to the bean queen on the way through)
wet and cold here today.
Morning to you all from Her Madge Neti! Off with all your heads - infidels!!

A sweet handbag shaney? is there such a thing!

Very quiet here today, have to dismantle the xmas tree, I'll just bung in all in a box and scrumple the tree up and stash in storeroom. Then come next xmas I'll wonder why on earth I didn't pack it all properly and label it! I always pack the lights away properly though

alice the cat doesn't get much of a mention, I love cats, can we have a piccy of her please! Waves to meggie, I never mention her either, aww bless!
Good morning Your Maj! and Everybiddy else. Got my decs down but not put away yet. going out first then tidying up when I get home. Only shopping and calling to see a young friend for a cuppa. I used to work with her.

The 'sweetest thing' Shaney. Surely not the obvious ~ a box of chocs! I'm not very imaginative.

Watched that Lynda La Plante thing last night and wished I hadn't. Daft I know when there's an off button. Too violent I thought. I don't like too graphic stuff like that.

Quite a bright morning but a bit chilly, I think we're in for some sleet later on so I'm off now before it starts.
Later 'gater(s)

P>S> Where's our lovely Vinny gone to. Anybody found out yet. Missing you Vin and your music x
Morning all... <bangs head & sobs quietly>...it's just the demanding neighbour being demanding even though she's still in hospital & not being a relative there's not a damned thing I can do about her gripes she doesn't lump everything on the one who is a relative....and breeeaathe..... sorry, hahaha.

I think I've remembered Lottie... was it the Hairy Bikers' Christmas programme where mums of different nationalities cooked meals & then they did it all again at a lovely Fayre in a Yorkshire(?) stately home?

I didn't think shaney would call a handbag 'sweetest thing' either so I think she's bought a guinea pig. :o)

You'll all be receiving mail shortly...if the phone stops ringing
Poor robi, we have a very little old neighbour at the side and she is the kindest soul around but if she sees me she grabs me and then I have to walk at a snail's pace ( I am a very fast walker - things to do, places to go) and it takes hours for us to cover 5 metres! And she speaks in a very hight and squeaky voice. shame on me but if I see her heading our way, I dodge elsewhere or rush past saying Hola am in a hurry!
