Old G3 pMac with USB ADSL modem fine, New G5 iMac with ethernet so get new router/modem. Same ISP (Tiscali) so why can't I connect? Sick to death of useless helplines! Do these people get paid? If so WHY?

assuming all connections to router are ok (you can access the router's setup pages through your web browser, right?)

make sure of the following settings on the router:

connection type: PPPoA
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
usual name and password...

are all those settings ok?
