"Forced"? Tie you down, do they?
Yes...I really do. I stretch to Don't Tell The Bride but that's mainly because he likes watching it (not for the dresses I must add, just to watch numpty men)

Hopefully it's a short engagement!
Cut up all your credit cards and hide your debit cards. If you've got a joint bank account I feel really sorry for you ☺☺☺

not a short one - Sept next year .

Her indoors is good at sewing and making garments - i'll ask her later , why she's not making the wedding dress
We love those programmes the one based in Altanta is our favourite! Some those bridal parties are such cats! I wouldn't want any of them at my daughter's wedding, the behaviour is quite often appalling! I remember one in particular girl who had gone to try on a dress coming out to show her friends and family only to find her mother had disappeared to try on a dress for herself!
Bazile, you're loving it really! Go on, admit it, you can't wait to see your daughter walk down the aisle ... & you're quite happy to splurge some money on her dress :0)
Yes I do Bazile ! My niece is getting married in November and there has been a constant wittering on about weddings dresses since this time last year.

Don't expect any surprises though. I can predict what this dress will look like for you, so it won't be a surprise when you first see it. It will be long and white and very expensive, and it will closely resemble every other wedding dress you have ever seen in your life. Only the memsahibs will be able to detect the minor differences. She will look beautiful, of course, like all brides.

Here is another prophesy. Your daughter and all the other females at this wedding will buy new shoes, and they will all complain that they are uncomfortable before the day is out. When you hesitantly ask why they bought shoes that they can't walk in, you will be told that you are just a mere man and being able to walk in shoes isn't the point at all !
^ LOL!
Bazile...one more word of advice. If you are going to ask her indoors why she is not saving some money and making the dress herself, don't forget to leave the exits clear.
Aww, that's just reminded me, my mum actually made mine! Now her fingers are twisted with arthritis.
Question Author
nungate - why do the brides bring so many people with them .

There was one guy with this bride who kept voicing his disapproval - he seemed to think he was the guy she was marrying .
On the other side, at least you won't have much in the way of trouble with the men folk at this do. Some of them may need persuading to get into a suit of course, although this persuading is best left to the Memsahibs, who are much better at that sort of thing than you....they actually enjoy it.

But the lads will be happy enough when they have the odd pint of lager in them, so there is that to look forward to.
I can see you're a wedding pro mikey ;0)
