I can only assume that Scotland's Police want the overtime payment in their pay packets in time for Xmas.
'Why are they even playing this?'

So that some sad jocks can dust off their 'Bannockburn 1314' banners again?
Well you don't want the thugs dictating which games can be played, surely.
Tell you what joeluke, we'll stow the Bannockburn if you lot can go 90 minutes without referencing 1966.
What happened in 1966 Doug. ??
Ill see your bannockburn and raise you a glen Coe.
oh gawd, not 1966 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Sorry Douglas, you are asking too much.
'' the reason we cancelled'' who actually is we ?
Leopoldville was renamed Kinshasa, Sir Oracle. :-P
Ah Doug. That answers my question nicely. ;-)
Douglas

Bannockburn was a battle 700 years ago and has absolutely nowt to do with football (although no doubt there are sad people who will celebrate it's ironic anniversary with banners at the game)

1966 was the year we won the World Cup and has everything to do with football
Did I mention we won the World Cup in 1966?

oh dear the old block of wood showing again, anne! "We" is anyone sensible enough to realise there is no reason to have this silly game.
Thank you Joe Luke I was not aware of that triumph on your home soil.
You have all kept so quiet about it for almost 50 years.

Should we cancel all games where there is a threat of hooligan violence then?

There would be a hell of a lot of cancelled games in that case because even some lowly non-league games have a history of trouble

Marches/demos still go ahead when the authorities know there will be trouble so why should we cancel football?

That's why the scots can only celebrate a 700 year old battle, because they have no successful football history to shout about!

actually it's a great fixture, hopefully the English hooligans won't ruin it for the genuine supporters.
