I have settled & closed my contract account with Virgin Mobile & have opted for a Orange PAYG simcard. I have been paying £5.99 P/M insurance via direct debit through Virgin, do I now have to cancel this D/D & take out a new insurance cover with Orange or does one get the present arrangement transferred to Orange ? ( having tried to trawl through explanations in Google & it all seems quite complicated ).

You need to cancel the DD to Orange, otherwise your bank will continue to pay Orange (and they won't pass it on to Virgin, why would they?) You then set up a new DD to Virgin.
..or even the other way round boxy

Thanks for your answer but you have unfortunately read my question incorrectly boxie, however I understand your answer & will take the appropriate steps to cancel the d/d to Virgin.

Aye they are separate companies, even if now they use the same network. I guess Virgin will be happy to take the money while you allow it.
ah yes, sorry, I got the suppliers the wrong way round :-)
