Why do fan ovens take ages to stop after they've been switched off and are they still using electricity?

mine stops when I switch it off...
so does mine
With some ovens, the fan will continue to run after you've switched off. This is very likely mentioned in your oven manual. The reason is to prevent the fan from being overheated and perhaps damaged from the residual heat of the oven. It will use little electricity compared to the oven itself. It's quite normal, and nothing to worry about.

Thanks, everyone. It's just that the blessed thing aggravates me with the noise it makes, as the fan takes ages to slow down and stop. I somehow think my next cooker will be fan-less!!
