I'm looking for some software that will allow me to get still pictures from WMV files or from a DVD. I would appreciate any of your recommendations please.

Excuse my spelling; I'm sure you've realized the spelling is of course 'software', not softwarare.

Play whatever video you want, pause it at the point you want and select take snapshot from the video menu.
