help needed re e-mails

I can log on to the internet no problem but when I try to access e-mails it wont let me. Keeps saying "wrong e-mail adress or password" re-entered them still the same. Any help much appreciated

Which email provider?

How are you attempting to access your mail? Via the web, or using a dedicated email client, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Thunderbird?

caps lock is off, I am with orange and using outlook express
Outlook Express has a nasty habit of screwing up the settings required to access email accounts. (Even when the correct information seems to be shown, the actual data sent to email servers still gets corrupted).

Go to Tools > Accounts and click the Mail tab.
If you've only got one account, it will probably already be highlighted. If not, click on the Orange account, to highlight it. Click 'Remove' and 'Yes'. (NB: Don't worry! That only removes your server settings. Existing mail, in your Inbox or elsewhere, won't suddenly disappear!)

Then click on Add > Mail to recreate the account, following these instructions:

thanks Chris will give it a try in the morning if it is still not working, brain a bit fazzled at the moment. Will let you know what happens

chris many thanks for your suggestions last night. Have just logged on and accessed e-mails as normal so I guess something was wrong at the other end last night. Many thanks again
