Entering a date of birth where?

In the UK we tend to us DD MM YY but the USA it tends to be MM DD YY.

If it is on a form (or online) they often give the layout required, such as DD MM YYYY
"In the UK we tend to us DD MM YY but the USA it tends to be MM DD YY"
Also in the UK we tend to spell "correct" with two Rs, and "input" with an N rather than an M
It is dependent, not only on the country, but also on whether a standard format has been adopted by any organisation, and if so - which of many standards?
