hi, just recently got new computer with vista on, but i'm not able to download certain things like an anti-virus programme or limewire. I'm not able to download attachments from e-mails either. I cant play dvd's. Should i take computer back to shop or could it be a problem with the settings perhaps ?

Have you checked the security settings? they may be too high, Has it got anti virus already, make sure you are logged on as administrator as well.

try downloading powerdvd to watch a dvd,

worth checking all that before you take it back

yes, i'm logged on as administrator according to the user accounts but so is my son, tried to change his setting to just standard user but it wouldnt let me. Cant download power dvd. How do i check the security settings? I had a free month of Norton anti-virus but that's over now and havent been able to download another anti-virus programme.

Hi i had a similar prob have you gone to the symtec website and used the norton removal tool? You may still have a bit of Norton installed which will conflict with other anti virus software.
