Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive
My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.
Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)
(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

I use up-to-date Avast on W8.1 and don't have this problem. If you right-click the Avast icon in the task tray you'll find the 'Avast Shield Controls' where you can disable it for a period - see if the drive is recognised when Avast is disabled. I suspect it won't make a difference.

Good morning all.
Yes shaney Americans is good, but why does she have to have so much sex? Last series next year, I do hope we see more of Martha. King George V1 doesn't seem to anything like I remember him, and DoE seems strange to me. I guess a lot of it is fiction, seen 3 episodes so far and am really enjoying it.

Evening all, does that sound familiar? Been out for tapas, real Spanish tapas and they were delicious, including wild boar and snails. Its our friends last night here. Its been fun but will be glad to be back in my bed at 8 pm next week! We have all been bitten by some unknown insect. Even Mr N who is never bitten. The welts are huge and painful. I'm guessing its the tiger mossie.
And so to bed.
And so to bed.
Hello all. Went out for a delicious last lunch with our friends who have now gone. I'll miss them but it will,be quite nice to get back to bed and the tv in the evenings.
Been overcast and quite nice here today, not sweaty at all, very pleasant.
Hope you are all ok. Poor Shudy, glad he is recovering!

Lol Neti .I suppose they both have to bed hop to get information. She's far more ruthless than Philip though.I think on the quiet he wants out for some peace and a quiet life.
Poor Martha stuck in that drab flat in Moscow eating her spud and onions. I hope she gets back to the US at some stage.
Nothing going on here .Hope you're all ok.
It is nice having company Neti but nice to get back to normal .

Morning all. Thoughtninsaw a flea on cat so he'd all steamed and sprayed and cleaned again! No bites though! Been to dentist to get teeth adjusted. Bottom bridge fine bow but top one been sent back to laboratory. Just seen a big cockroach on kitchen wall so have sprayed and sprayed and it scuttered under fridge. I know it'll die bit I'm not going in there. Lots about this year everywhere!
Hello all
Nice day in parts. Was lovely and sunny but clouded over now.Well it is Wimbledon fortnight.
It was good Neti.I think the D of E was put out, as when she became Queen he was sort of shoved to one side.I think that he said he must have been the only man not able to give his surname (Mountbatten) to his children and that he was just "a bloody amoeba".
I've finished the Americans .It was brilliant .I think she's between a rock and a hard place about going back to Russia.Perhaps they'll go back and Paige will team up with Tuan and take their place.I wish there had been a bit more about Martha though. She looked so sad.

Afternoon all...you've been very chatty on here lately and I'm sorry about your various worries over brexit/pensions/poorly pets etc. As they say, if it ain't one thing it's another. It's been the same here, abysmally wet & cold last week followed by a lovely warm weekend.
I had two young visitors from down under on Thurs. :) They're a delight, so much to talk about and, bless em, they want to come back, even in the rain. I don't know if that's going to happen any time soon. Saturday me and sis went to little man Moondust's 4th(!) birthday party at a leisure centre. Oh my giddy aunt, a dozen of them (+parents) in a gym tearing round, screaming and boinging on a bouncy castle for an hour....my ears! Tinnitus x 1000 :) Silence fell while they all stuffed their faces and went off home high as kites. Then it was back to Tarquins for a family get together and bbq. I spent yesterday recovering.
I'm just the same with the hot flushes woofy, they've been really bad again lately. I get the nausea and dizziness too, I've had to take stemetil this past week, and I want to sleep every time I sit down.
KBO all...keep taking the tablets.
